Google ads VS Facebook ads: Which one suits you?

When I say Google ads Vs Facebook ads, most of you have one Question in your mind.

Which one is better? Google ads or Facebook ads.

There is No doubt that these two advertising platforms are the big dogs in the online marketing field.

But when it comes to stats, it gives a clear idea

Both these ad platforms add most of the revenues to their respective Companies.

More than 90% of Google revenue comes from the Google Ad platform itself. About 97.9  Of Facebook revenue comes from its Ad platform.

In 2020 the Google ads revenue is almost 146.92 billion US dollars.

On the other hand, Facebook ads revenue is about to 86 billion U.S. dollars in 2020.

I used to assume Google ad words Vs Facebook ads as Lion Vs Tiger.

If you ask me which one will win the Fight?

I say there are only a few chances that these two animals can meet each other.

It’s because the lion used to live in the Open forest region, while the tiger used to live in the Evergreen forest region.

Likewise when you ask me which one is better? Google ads or Facebook ads.

These two are not going to compete with each other directly. 

Google is a search engine, While Facebook is a social media.

But both these have their own advantages in the Online advertising platforms.

Note: Here I compare only Facebook ads and Google search ads. I am not mentioning the Display ad on Google.

Inbound Vs Outbound :

As I already said Google is a Search engine and Facebook is a Social media.

You need to understand that Google is inbound marketing, While Facebook is outbound is marketing.

Inbound marketing is something where a customer is looking for a product. In outbound marketing, we are actually looking for a customer to sell our product.

For example, imagine that there is a shop, where you go inside and ask for a product. 

Here it is inbound marketing because your idea about the product and buying intention is Clear.

On the other hand, a person is coming to you and asking you to buy a product. 

Here it is Outbound Marketing because you don’t have an idea and intention about buying the product.

Here Google is a demand fulfillment platform. It fulfills our needs.

We directly go to Google and search for a specific product (Shoes) because we know that the product (Shoes) already exists and buying intention is clear.

Facebook is a Demand generation platform. We are not looking for a product. Here only the interruption is done.  A new product (Friction Name: Air shoes) which is into the Market.

Facebook does not fulfill the product. Here I generate only awareness about the product (Air shoes). Here you don’t have the intention of buying the product (Air shoes).

Difference between Google ads and Facebook ads:

We can’t just say that Google ads are good and Facebook is the best. Before coming to the conclusion we need to understand the difference.

The first and foremost thing is Facebook ads interface is quite easier when compared to Google ads.

Facebook ads managers are easy to learn, But Google ads interface is a little harder to learn.

Not all of them cannot go and start Google ads as a beginner.

People search for anything on Google and Google provides the information based on the keyword people search on the Google search box.

Here Keyword plays a major role, not the audience.

On Facebook, targeting the audience is important not the keyword because the Facebook ad is created based on the audience.

If you target the wrong audience then Facebook ads don’t work. 

 Likewise, if you target the wrong keyword the Google ads don’t work.

In Google Ads, you are running the ad for your landing page or your web page.

A Facebook ad actually looks like a Facebook post which represents the Sponsored Ad signature on the corner of the Ad post.

We can run different formats of ads such as Image format or Video format. Here you can redirect to your web page by the ad post.

In Google search ad there is no Format it just appears on top of the search result for your landing page or Web page.

Google ads vs. Facebook ads cost:

Facebook ads are much cheaper when compared to Google ads.

But remember that Facebook is an Impression based and Google is Click based.

The impression is the number of people actually saw your ad, it does not count whether that person clicked your ad or not.

Clicks are the number of people who actually clicked your ad and when to through the page.

As I said, Facebook ads are cost-effective. You can run an ad for some really low cost. But here you are running the ad for impression, not for click.

Not all the people who saw your ad are going to click the ad, Even though the ads are cheap the CTR(Click through ratio) is very low.

On Google ads, they are really high in cost. But the amount is detected only if the person clicks your ad not for Impressions.

Google ads versus Facebook ads:

In the above content, we discussed the importance and the difference between Google ads and Facebook ads.

Now it’s time to announce the real king Google ads or Facebook ads.

Marketers prefer Google ads because Google is an inbound and most People who come to Google to search for the product are the buyers.

Even though the CTR is high. The Conversion rate is also higher when compared to Facebook ads.

Imagine that your product value is 20,000 rupees. You’re spending 1000 rupees for a click and 10 people click your ad and at least one person Converted into your customer.

Here you are making a profit even though you are spending much more costly than a Facebook ad

Online marketer goes for Google ads because it provides quicker and high-quality customers than Facebook ads.

At the same time stats say that the Number of Facebook ads users are higher than Google ads users.

Some of the Online marketers go for Facebook ads for some solid reasons.

The marketers choose Facebook ads because you are getting the customers at a real low cost.

The Quality of the customer is quite low than the Customers generated by Google ads.

But there are more chances that this low customer may become a long term customer over a period of time.

It’s because Facebook has a clear marketing funnel.

Digital Marketing Funnel:

Using this marketing Funnel you can build a personal brand and start increasing trust by providing value.

Once you build trust then the sales are easy and the customer is automatically going to become a loyal customer.

All these ads are just made to create attention.

Google Ads doesn’t have a clear marketing funnel such as Facebook Ads because people come to Google and go into the page directly if they like the product they buy, if not they won’t.

So Google ads provide quick results for a high cost.

But Facebook ads have a clear marketing funnel and it Provides Long term results at low cost.

So the real king is your choice. If Google ads bring you customers then Google ads are your king. If Facebook brings you customers then Facebook ads are your king.

Google ads VS Facebook ads: Which one should I choose?

When do you ask me which is your King? Google ads or Facebook ads

I would say both and More advertising marketers choose both.

It’s because if you combine both you get double the amount of benefits.

Run ads on Google and retarget the same customer on Facebook. Then the value of the advertising also becomes double and sales you get also become double.

Your choice should be based on your product and your budget.

If you have a high-quality product then you should go for Google ads, here you get the high-quality customer.

Here you should focus on quality, not on quantity.

If you have a low-end product and a low budget then you should choose Facebook ads, you get many customers who can buy the low priced product.

Here you should focus on quantity, not on quality.

Conclusion:

There are some businesses where you are able to choose either Google ads or Facebook ads

When you have a Product, which is already known by a lot of people. Then Google ads are your best friend. 

Here you can retarget the customers by using Facebook ads.

If your product is unknown and if it’s new to the online market you can’t go for Google. Here you need to go for Facebook ads.
