Why does the future of India lie in online marketing?

India has the second-highest population in the world as we all know but not all of them are internet users.

The number of internet users in 2020 in India is not even 50% right now but it will be increasing in the future.

The average salary of a Digital marketer in India is about 3.5 to 4 lakhs per annum.

Online marketing or digital marketing is a 100 billion-dollar company.

Data shows how big the online marketing industry is and it even predicts the future of online marketing in India.

Why online marketing is growing faster in India?

Businesses men are not interested in online or offline. They just want to grow their business to add more revenue.

If a person is using online marketing and getting more customers his competitor also wants to get more customers he doesn’t care whether it is online or offline he wants his business to grow online.

For example, Amazon launched its online business in India so Walmart in America also wants to compete in the market. So they brought most of the Flipkart shares, and now both of them are competing in the Indian market.

Every business sells its product or service online and the offline businesses which are destroying also start their online marketing journey.

And some of the small scale industries that cannot compete with the bigger brands use the power of online marketing to grow their business. 

Moreover, people in this modern world don’t have the time they want everything on their doorsteps.

People are looking for good offers and services if they get it online they don’t have to go to the offline market.  

Departments inside Online Marketing:

1.  Search engine optimization(SEO)

2.  Search engine Marketing (Paid ads)

3.  Content Marketing.

4.  Social Media Marketing.

5.  Email Marketing.

6.  Web analytics.

These departments are interlinked with each other and if you are looking to build a carrier in Online Marketing you need to develop these skills.

Search engine optimization (SEO)

The search engine is an evolved form of Yellow pages. When you search for something on a search engine it shows a specific result. The results which are organic are SEO.

SEO basically helps to rank your page on the Search engine. Google is the most used search engine. Which Contributes about 80% of the total Search engine market.

There are more than 200 factors said by Google to rank on the search engine.

Some of the factors are Keyword research, Domain names, Quality content, user behavior.

Using these factors Google crawls or Google spider ranks your page on search engines.

When it comes to the future of online marketing SEO is my number one recommendation.

It is because SEO alone contributes more than 50 % of the online marketing industry.

Google when you search for SEO jobs for freshers in India it gives a huge number.

Search engine marketing (SEM):

SEM also helps to rank your Page on search engines but they are paid ads. You are paying search engines to rank your page on top.

SEO is organic while SEM is paid.

The Most used SEM tool is Google ads. Most of the Google revenue comes from Google ads. Other than Google ads there are Bing ads.

There are no tactics on SEM. The person who bid more for the specific keyword ranks on top of the Search engine.

Search engine marketing is the most important department in online Marketing. However search engine marketing has a major role in the future of online marketing in India.

Content marketing:

Content Marketing is the core of Online Marketing. Without Content marketing, there is no SEO or SEM.

Content can be a long-form article or video content (Video marketing).

There are various sub-departments inside Content marketing and the opportunities inside Content marketing are also big.

Social media marketing (SMM):  

When you have high-quality content you need to spread the content where social media comes to play.

You need to share your content on social media for more traffic. These shares can be an organic or paid advertisement.

For organic traffic, you can share your content on your Facebook pages, Facebook groups, LinkedIn posts, and Instagram stories.

For paid traffic, you can use Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, Tik Tok ads, and Twitter ads.

YouTube is for video content .

Email Marketing:

Email is a personal space. When you are interacting with a person via email its more likely a one and one communication.

One and one communication with customers helps in building trust. When you build trust you can easily tackle your business and services.

IN SEM, SEO, SMM it’s all about getting customers. In email marketing you are getting customer on-line.

Web analytics:

Web Analytics helps to track your Content and the persons who are looking for your content. It helps to track your page visitors. You can even track the live visitors and there is a lot of stuff in Analytics.

To understand the basics of online marketing you need to understand the basics of these departments.

Not only businessmen are benefited via online marketing.

Using online marketing skills students who are looking for jobs can get their dream jobs.

Entrepreneurs and  Freelancers are something that is developing due to Online marketing.

Will online marketing die in the future?

In the future, digital platforms may change but Marketing cannot be changed.

For example today Facebook is there, tomorrow Facebook can be replaced by some other platforms.

But the market remains the same and the marketing remains the same.

Marketing is understanding the customer’s minds. In future robots may come but they cannot understand human psychology right. So only we humans can do marketing.

Online or digital is technology. Where marketing is a skill.

So Online marketing will live till humans live.
